A Highly Engineered (ALMOST) Year In Review
It’s hard to believe it’s (almost) been a year under our new banner! We are so encouraged by just how great our customers have received the new space and identity. As a result, our efficiency has increased over these last few months noticeably. By having 7 bays and more technicians we have been able to more quickly complete work, while still making sure the quality is as good or better than before. Below we’ve highlighted some of our more interesting cars, but by no means is this everything. BMW E90 M3 ROD BEARINGS
We had the pleasure of helping to keep a very clean E90 M3 on the road by installing a new set of rod bearings.
AUDI A5 S-LINE ALIGNMENT
Now in our new space we are finally able to offer alignments! This A5 was one of the first up on the rack and literally 100s of aligments later we’re still just as excited to be able to offer this necessary service.
MK6 GTI 2.0T TIMING CHAINS
This is just one of many 2.0T vehicles that we performed this service on. In fact, this is probably at least a weekly occurrence it is so common. This particular GTI did not suffer as catastrophic of a failure as some, but it did do a number on several valves unfortunately.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
We don’t always work on German cars, sometimes they’re British- yet still decidedly European. This Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe was in for front and rear brakes today. Always fun to mix things up, especially when they’re this good looking.
URANO GRAY ARTEON R-LINE
One of our longtime customers has seen his Arteon make quite the transformation each time it came here. We’re running out of available parts to install on this one and even some of the parts we did install are one-offs unique to this car!
BMW M2s for Various Services
We had several BMW M2 and M2 Competitions come through the shop for various BMW services. We performed brake replacements, tire mount and balance, oil changes, as well as Dinan software upgrades on these amazing machines.
LAMBORGHINI MURCI
Have murci! We were lucky enough to service another longtime customer’s Lamboghini Murcielago when it started weeping oil from the valve cover gaskets. Despite the fact that this one gets driven now, we suspect it was a little too babied in a former life which led to this.
Eurofest Maggie Valley 2021
This was an incredible first show to attend as a new company and we couldn’t have been happier with just how laid back this event was. The overall vibe was just what we prefer and the quality of cars was extremely impressive! Below is our first video recap as well as a couple images from the show.
MK7 GTI IS38 HYRBID AND TRACK PREP
We are proud to share just a small part of JR14 and aerofabb’s street / track build. They entrusted us to get this MK7 GTI set up with a hybrid IS38 turbocharger as well as an aggressive alignment. We also threw the GTI on our corner scales to get some baseline figures to make future adjustments off of once they are able to put a few more shakedown miles on this vehicle.
E39 M5 REAR MAIN SEAL AND MORE
It’s not every day that we have such an iconic BMW shows up needing automotive repair, and certainly not one that is in this pristine of a condition.
The initial concern was a leaking rear main seal, however as many know there are some “might as well items” that come along with that repair, most notably a new clutch and flywheel assembly. With those larger items knocked out, we turned out attention to other maintenance items in the way of new cabin filters, spark plugs, diff fluid, as well as replacing a couple of tired control arms.
LOTUS EVORA TECH INSPECTION AND TRACK ALIGNMENT
This stunning Lotus Evora came by recently for a track inspection as well as an aggressive alignment for a track weekend. We’re always glad to sign off on your weekend weapons and make sure that everything is up to snuff to ensure you have as much fun as possible, without having to worry about simple mechanical issues.
AUDI S5 AWE EXHAUST AND APR INTAKE
While we still are able to, we love making these German machines sound incredible. With the help of APR and AWE Tuning we were able to help air flow more freely through this supercharged European muscle car. The 3 liter Audi S5 and S4 engines respond very well to upgrades and this was no exception. Take a look at a few photos from the install.
VW AUDI TIMING CHAIN CONCERNS AND S4 Motor Replacement
We outlined what to look for and how to prevent total engine failure when it comes to timing chains. Unfortunately this S4 customer didn’t catch the issue in time and we had to replace the entire engine. For more on what to loko
AUDI R8 V10 EXHAUST INSTALLATION
While we might make it look easy, there’s 8-10 hours worth of work to install an exhaust on an Audi R8 V10. This time we set this 2020 coupe up with a Quicksilver exhaust, and this thing sounds glorious now! Check out the video and photos below.
The Final Word ...
It’s simply been an incredible year for us as a business and now as a small but growing family. We are very enthusiastic about what 2022 will bring, as we have some very talented individuals set to join us.
