Lamborghini Murci!
Following a thorough thrashing on the LongTail Rally, this customer’s Murcielago was heavily leaking oil from the valve covers and was in dire need of some automotive maintenance. After sourcing the necessary OEM Lamborghini gaskets we were able to get her sealed up like new again. As always, it’s refreshing to see so many miles being racked up on such an awesome vehicle and we look forward to continuing to help keep it on the road for many more.
A look at all of the throttle bodies and some of the intake piping removed from the engine. This step is not too overwhelming although you do need to pay careful attention to orientation and arrangement of each individual piece. Having 4 throttle bodies instead of one does add a slight layer of complexity that you might otherwise take for granted.
With the air intake removed the intake manifold was able to start being disconnected. There are quite a few electrical and vacuum lines that need to be undone to remove this and gain access to the valve covers themselves. One nice thing about this engine is the orientation of the v12 which makes some things straightforward. However, the sheer width of this Lambo makes it a little tricky to lean over the vehicle. To protect the gloss black vents we made sure to wrap them in removable protective plastic.
With the valve covers exposed and removed we were able to replace the gaskets and then reverse the process and reinstall all of the components that had been removed.
After an oil change and replacement of the old battery this exotic sports car was ready to be picked up by its owner!
