Eurofest Raleigh 2023

Eurofest Raleigh, or “Southeast Eurofest” saw an even larger turnout this year with the addition of a few more vendors, as well as a particularly strong showing from the Paid in Full car club with their entourage of 80s and 90s BMWs. We saw all the familiar faces as well as met quite a few new ones. AC System Re-charge / Inspection - $99 Special

Our brand new state-of-the-art Mahle Artic-Pro machine can refill and recharge you system if it’s low, and if that’s not the reason your car is not getting cold, our dealer trained technicians can expertly diagnose the cause of the problem. Coolant Flush

Your coolant doesn’t last forever, and if you have not flushed it ever, then you definitely should consider having this service performed. Old and neglected coolant will break down and the acids that result are corrosive and can lead to rust inside your system. That rust can ultimately cause critical components like your water pump and thermostat to fail, which will cause your car to run hot and possibly overheat, leaving you stranded. 

Pollen FIlter Replacement

Got allergies? Have a slightly funky smell inside your car? Then you might want to consider letting us change out your cabin air / pollen filter. This is a relatively cheap way to ensure you’re breathing the healthiest possible air inside your car.  And while it might sound easy to do, some of the filters are located in the darndest of places that require quite a bit of circus contorting to extract. So if you’re feeling limber and good at yoga, then be our guest, but if you’re not up a task like that you can leave it to our pros.

2nd Annual Technik Treffen CAR SHOW EVENT

We are inviting everyone to come celebrate with us here at the shop on Saturday, March 25th. We want this to be a very relaxed “treffen” (or meet-up for you English speakers).  We will not be having a “show”or awards in the traditional sense, we just want everyone to have a place to come hang out for the day and (hopefully) enjoy some nice spring weather to kick off the season. It’s your chance to show off what you’ve been working on over the winter. We will have a German food vendor on site to slang those brat and currywurst lunch trays, as well as Aviator Brewing on site to fill up a mug (or cup) for you.  New this year will be “Baltic Bites” a Lithuanian food truck and we’re very much looking forward to having them. Expect to see some other familiar vendors as well, including aerofabb, Rotiform, and more!

The event starts at 10 AM until 3PM or until everyone decides they’re ready to stop having fun 🙂 

Where is this happening?

Will there be food?

You bet your lederhosen there will be! We’re excited to have Kat-n-Around Authentic German Food on the scene all day, slangin the best of the currywurst and brats for days. We’ve had this stuff and it is perfect Euro comfort food.  Click the image below for a complete menu of what will be available.

In addition to the German food, we are also highly anticipating yet another European food option called Baltic Bites ! They are  the first and only Lithuanian food truck in the country serving fresh, healthy and delicious cuisine to the Triangle and they are family owned and operated.

What about beer?

This wouldn’t be a Black Forest function without some brews. And in keeping with that tradition we will be having Aviator Brewing serving up some pints (or whatever vessel you get your grubby paws on) to whet your whistle. If you’re not familiar with Aviator then you should check out their website here: aviatorbrew.com

Where do I park?

We have quite a bit of space this year, which means you will be able to park *mostly* where you want, and with your group / club.  We just ask that you PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE MAIN ROAD THROUGH. This means all the way back to the wooded and gated area in the back.  Please be respectful and considerate and leave room for others.  Please do not arrive before 10 am! There is no registration for this event. It is free.

What is happening?

You sound kind of stoned when you ask that but alright. This is a EUROPEAN AUTOMOTIVE MEET-UP or GTG as some might say. You’re invited to bring you European car and just come hang out. Do not feel as though your car needs to be special or finished or anything else. Just come as you are. Like Nirvana.

B8 A4 SoloWerks Coilover and Rotiform Wheel Install

What’s that? You wanted to see more after shots of suspension installs and wheels and tires? We got you covered. This time around we applied the KISS method to one of our own vehicles. Morgan, our service advisor, has very patiently been awaiting the day that we could get his B8 A4 daily driver sitting right, and that day has come. And being that it is a daily driver he chose the less is more route and the results speak for themselves. Noticeably yet functionally lowered on Solo-Werks coilovers, with a set of Rotiform KPS wheels, the looks have instantly transformed. The wheels are finished in silver and run 19×10″ all the way around. And while those wheel dimensions might sound aggressive the photos don’t lie, the fit is spot on. Driving mannerisms are still very reasonable and perfectly well suited for urban roads. And to add just another subtle, yet classy touch, Morgan was gifted a Black Forest Industries GS2 shift knob to replace the less than ideal factory automatic shifter.

Such a huge part of the driving experience is audibly hearing your vehicle, and a great sounding exhaust system enhances that experience tenfold. It doesn’t hurt that this Borla exhaust system also frees up a couple of extra horsepower as well as improves fuel economy to boot. Performance Software for Audi RS6

It’s ‘Wagon Wednesday’ here at Black Forest Technik. To round out the B5 S4 Avant, the B6 Avant, and the Jetta Sportwagen that are all concurrently being worked on, we have this stunning C8 RS6 in for …more power baby. This customer chose to go with an Integrated Engineering software tune to rocket the power figures to nearly 800 ft lbs of torque on 93 octane. This is one quick grocery getter. Looking forward to seeing this one back for some future mods that the owner has planned. See you next time!
